The Family Practice and Integrative Medicine Center also offers holistic health and healing services including integrative, complimentary, alternative, and natural medicine, replacement therapy, natural healing, natural menopause, bio-identical hormones, and replacement therapy.

This is a yearlong comprehensive healing program dedicated to helping you pay attention to your complete self. You will be given specific tools, individualized direction, and helpful encouragement from an experienced and diverse staff that genuinely cares about you and your quality of life.

The Health and Spirituality Program is an investment toward becoming the person you were created to be.

How do I know if this is for me?

Your age, sex, and occupation doesn't matter. Your religious background, health history, and education doesn't matter. It doesn't matter if you're married, single, or divorced. It doesn't matter whether you're mostly interested in health, spiritual matters, or relationships.

What sort of issues do people bring to the Health and Spirituality Program?

We work with a wide range of issues.  Anything that you think has to do with your health is appropriate for the program.  This could range from chronic illness issues, to wanting to develop a richer prayer life, to weight issues, to issues of work effectiveness.

What is integrative medicine?

Integrative medicine focuses on the patient as a whole addressing all factors that affect health (mind, body, spirit, and lifestyle). With integrative medicine patient and practitioner partner to seek health and healing making use of all appropriate therapies, both conventional and natural.

Is the Health and Spirituality Program only for Christians?

The program is for anyone no matter what your beliefs.

How much time is required for the program?  

The only ‘required’ time is the 12 monthly meetings.  These are an hour to an hour and a half long.  Any other time you put into the program is of your own choosing.

Do all the meetings take place in Crookston?  

No. The first consultation is best to be done with some kind of face-to-face contact including a virtual video option using a platform such as Skype or Zoom. Monthly reflections can be done via phone, virtual video or in person.

Are there any required activities that are part of the program? 

No.  Your health and spirituality program is personally tailored to your needs and interests.  There are no predetermined activities.

What if I'm only interested in the Add On services?

All Add Ons are available whether or not you are in the yearlong program. Keep in mind that Spiritual Direction is the only Add On available over the phone.

Do I have to alter anything about my current medical treatment to participate in this program?

No.  We work with you only on the issues that you wish to work on with us.  If you are happy with your current conventional care, it is quite likely that we would never even discuss this with you.

Do you provide other retreats and/or programs?

We provide a variety of prayer, youth, leadership, and service oriented retreats. Retreats typically last anywhere from one weekend to five days and can be as long as one month. What is MICAH?

MICAH stands for Minnesota Institute of Contemplation and Healing. MICAH creates, supports, and develops programs and environments for the practice and study of spiritual formation and leadership, healing and the arts. As a contemplative Christian undertaking, MICAH provides a sacred space within which we seek to create a life with God.
