Health Center Philosophy

The philosophy of the center is to create a space where a variety of practitioners can work together providing multiple health and healing services for our community and the region.

We provide standard family practice care and, for those who desire, we also integrate natural therapies into one's personalized treatment plan. This is a unique aspect of our clinic in that the physician can be someone's "regular doctor" and also can be their complementary and alternative medicine (CAM) health care provider. This approach allows the natural therapies to become a part of the "regular" health care. This is in contrast to a situation where the practitioner provides CAM services exclusively and is unable to incorporate the natural therapies as part of the conventional care.

It is unusual to be able to receive primary care, that is, basic health care, check ups, and diagnosis and management of common diseases and ailments, and CAM care in the same setting. In addition, we believe that each person has unique needs for their sense of wellness. Treatment plans are always individualized based on reviewing an extensive health history questionnaire, and our interview and physical exam.

We believe there is more to health and healing than what conventional medicine generally offers. We stay mindful of the relationship between mind, body and spirit and respect the wisdoms of both modern technology and natural therapies.
