Interns will learn about their particular field of interest as well as how their work is connected to and interacts with the spiritual life and the practice of discernment.

Spiritual Life and Leadership Intern
Date:
Spiritual Life and Leadership Internship starts June 1, 2009 and last from one to three months.
This internship is focused on the study and practice of the spiritual life and its relation to leadership. The internship will involve one’s own personal study and practice in the spiritual life as well as helping lead various retreats at MICAH.

Culinary Intern

All foods served at MICAH are intentionally planned with the idea of sustainability and health in mind. This means foods will be organic, local when possible, and will be based on a whole foods diet. The culinary intern will primarily learn about preparing these kinds of foods for MICAH retreats and functions. Other areas of focus will include learning about how to search out local places to purchase seasonal and organic foods, learning how to prepare menus and shopping lists, budgets, organizing and stocking the kitchen, researching and preparing special dietary meals such as no dairy, vegan, gluten free, etc.

Construction Intern
Date: Construction Internship starts May 1, 2009 and will last from one to four months.
The construction intern will be learning skills associated with the completion of the MICAH building. Learning and experiencing what it means to notice God in the unhurried rhythm of work, rest, play, and quiet will also be an emphasis in this internship.
