MICAH offers ministries for body, mind and spirit including contemplative and silent prayer, meditation, spirituality, spiritual direction, and retreat center.  The Family Practice and Integrative Medicine Center also offers holistic health and healing services including integrative, complimentary, alternative, and natural medicine, replacement therapy, natural healing, natural menopause, bio-identical hormones, and replacement therapy.

MICAH creates, supports, and develops programs and environments for the practice and study of spiritual formation and leadership,  healing and the arts.

As a contemplative Christian undertaking, MICAH provides a sacred space within which we seek to create a life with God.


Our Vision

MICAH creates places where we live out a holistic vision of being in communion with God, with others, and with the earth. When fully developed, the rural campus is a place to discover healing for body, mind, and spirit.

People come to MICAH to:

Staff

Daniel Wolpert, MDiv

Executive Director and Co-founder
of Minnesota Institute of Contemplation and Healing (MICAH)

Daniel, a Presbyterian minister, is cofounder of the Minnesota Institute of Contemplation and Healing (MICAH) and serves as spiritual advisor for the health center. He also provides counseling and spiritual direction services as well as supervision for the clinic's health and spirituality programs. Daniel has practiced spiritual direction for over 20 years and has taught in several spiritual direction programs. He is an author on spirituality and prayer and has run many retreats across the nation.

Trey Everett, MA

Co-Director
of Minnesota Institute of Contemplation and Healing (MICAH)

Trey has been involved in the study and practice of spirituality for over 20 years. He has instructed and directed others in spiritual formation as a contemplative retreat leader, youth minister, senior minister, and a Bible college instructor. Trey and his wife Corene were part of an ecumenical mission community in China where they taught, served, and experienced the life of faith. They now live in Crookston with their three children Madeline, Zoe, and Jack. Trey currently serves as coordinator and prayer practice instructor for the Health and Spirituality Program.

Debra Bell, MD

Health Center Medical Director

Dr. Bell is board certified in family practice with 20 years in conventional medicine and complementary and alternative medicine. She cares for patients from birth to the elderly. Dr. Bell is skilled in homeopathy, vitamin/nutritional therapy, diet/lifestyle changes and bio-identical hormone replacement. Prior to moving to Crookston, she had practices in Vermont and California that combined home births, family practice and integrative medicine. She is cofounder of the Minnesota Institute of Contemplation and Healing (MICAH). Debra and her husband Daniel Wolpert, live in Crookston andhave two sons.
